Educational or Proficiency Requirements: (a) Employees in the affected classifications and all new hires into the affected classifications shall possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent and shall fulfill one of the legal requirements detailed in the Act and described below. (b) Completed 48 semester hours of study at an accredited institution of higher education (c) Possess Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education (d) Pass a proficiency assessment and/or test certified by the District as meeting the definition of rigor in the Act. Job Summary Job Summary Assist the coordinator(s) with lessons and other classroom activities. Work with individual or small groups of students in reading, spelling, math and other subjects within the curriculum both during the regular school day and after school tutorials. Prepare, organize and distribute educational materials and equipment. Meet with teachers to plan and organize curriculum and materials. Contribute and promote a functional and attractive environment for learning. Supervise students during recess. Provide minor clerical support for the classroom. Attend all required inservice and training sessions. Translate verbally between students or parents and other school staff and written translations of routine correspondences and homework assignments. Communicate and reinforce learning goals set by the teacher. Promote and maintain good relationships with staff, students and parents. May assist teacher in administering student assessments.
