Duties Manages unit readiness and operations programs. Monitors/reviews readiness-training requirements, exercise planning, and aids in operational activities to include support of functions directly related to deployments. Provides deployment oversight for all individuals deploying in support of contingencies, either through mobilization or volunteerism, exercises or emergency sourcing requests. Conducts initial qualification and mission course training, covering the full cycle of theory, formal classroom instruction, and actual hands on training for ground and flying instruction phases. Coordinates the accomplishment of requirements involved with mission scheduling preparation, planning, and coordination. Provides management of requisitions, receipts, storage, inventory, and accounting and reconciliation of medical, non-medical expendable, non-expendable equipment, and supplies needed to meet mission requirements in garrison, contingency/disaster response postures. Periodically, as prescribed by regulations, must take and pass written and in-flight standardization/evaluation examinations to include random no-notice evaluations. Completion of the Air Force Trainer-Certifier program is desirable. Flight Examiner (FE) qualification is highly desired. Desired AFSC is X4N091 and military grade is SMSgt Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series, 0301 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes overall experience with the operational management of resources to fulfill the readiness, logistics, and activities within an aeromedical evacuation organization; aircraft capabilities and their configuration; aeromedical evacuation missions; emergency equipment and oxygen; communications; current flying directives; interpretation of technical guidance; principles of treating and transporting wounded or ill in military aircraft; and knowledge of egressing and survival procedures when accomplished with wounded or injured. OR EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: I have an equivalent combination of successfully completed post-master's education and experience that may be used to meet total experience requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of Aeromedical Evacuation operations principles, policies, and procedures and a comprehensive knowledge of support programs, concepts, practices and requirements relative to operations, medical and readiness programs. Knowledge in the special aeromedical equipment and aircraft systems as it pertains to patient care and multiple aircraft systems are required for the assigned missions. Knowledge (Advanced) of the theory of basic medical concepts as they apply to non-standard situations. Knowledge of patient care, electrical systems, current flying directives, interpretation of loading plans, applicable technical publications, and egress and survival procedures. Knowledge (expert) on emergency medical and aircraft equipment and oxygen requirements. Knowledge of theory of aerial effects directly related to medical care and treatment of patients and aircraft systems operations. Knowledge of analytical investigative statistical and accounting-type data analysis tools and techniques to develop and present analytical findings. Skill in using a computer, to aid in the performance of a broad range of diversified functions. Skill and ability to prepare projects and staff reports and to deliver briefings to other senior staff members and management personnel at all levels. Ability to plan, organize, and conduct training and information workshops. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. Incumbent must meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. Work schedules will be so aligned to allow the individual to function fully on unit training assembly (UTA) weekends. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
