Adventure Park Obstacle Course Outfitter Job Description


Reports to: ZipRider & Adventure Park Supervisor

Category: Seasonal

Salary Range: $18/ hour

Location: Icy Strait Point


Position Summary:

The Adventure Park Obstacle Course Outfitter are responsible for instructing and leading assigned participant groups Adventure park (high ropes course), as well as, assisting with equipment fitting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point's guiding principles:

BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable

Duties & Responsibilities specific to the Adventure Park.

o Daily opening and closing of the course.

o Conduct a daily complete inspection of all course components and all gear.

o Fit guests with gear correctly and supervise the use of all personal safety equipment.

o Coach participants in proper climbing and aerial trekking technique

o Lead a safety briefing and demonstration.

o Enforce all rules and regulations for the Adventure Park.

o Monitor participants on the courses.

o Verbally and physically assist participants on courses.

o Handle at-height rescue situations.

o Assist in course maintenance, facility cleaning, customer service, and operation tasks when not working at the park.

Provide guests with information about the scenery, wildlife, history, culture and geography.

Promote other ISP venues, distribute ISP literature and/or sell ISP merchandise.

Participate in all required trainings and safety meetings.

Maintain a current First Aid/CPR certification.

Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Capable of working at heights and of moderate physical activity including standing, walking, reaching climbing, and lifting weight in excess of 40lbs; able to visually identify safety hazards.

Strong commitment to Safety.

Adequate knowledge or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture and local area (marine life, plants, animals, birds).

Must have excellent verbal communication; patient and able to lead groups of kids as well as adults.

Ability to learn, retain and present excursion information to guests in an accurate manner.

Willing to work outdoors, including during inclement weather.

This is a safety sensitive position that is subject to drug testing.


Icy Strait Point is a Native-owned and operated enterprise and offers Native Preference under P.L.93-638. Applicants must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.




Compensation details: 18-18 Hourly Wage
