Position Summary: As an Advanced Research Associate you will work in the Immunocytochemistry Department on the validation of antibodies for immunocytochemistry applications. You will be knowledgeable of animal anatomy and histology and familiar with histological examination of tissues, frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sections, immunohistochemistry protocols, microscopy systems; collect digital images, digital image post-processing and enter data into a database. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate laboratory and technical skills, extensive problem solving and troubleshooting. Set up and conduct your own experiments and draft and revise standard operating procedures Document results and prepare reports in order to analyze your data Cary out troubleshooting activities daily Propose and implement process improvements Collaborate with other departments/labs as needed Help train new employees as needed Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience: BS degree in the biological sciences and 3+ years of relevant experience Or, MS degree in the biological sciences and 0-2 years of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable of animal anatomy and histology and familiar with histological examination of tissues, frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sections, immunohistochemistry protocols, microscopy systems; collect digital images, digital image post-processing and enter data into a database. Must be capable and willing to learn novel immunocytochemistry techniques, search PubMed and other databases, analyze scientific publications, have experience in troubleshooting and communicate with other laboratory personnel. Ability to follow protocols and standard operation procedures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy Must be able to work independently and within a team Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Photoshop are required.
