Purpose of Role Oversees the operation of and provides leadership for the Advanced Practice programs. In collaboration with Enrollment Management, participates in recruitment and enrollment of students in advanced practice programs. This includes providing academic advisement and development of program completion plans for potential students, applicants, and new and continuing Advanced Practice students. Assures progression policies are implemented through membership on the Graduate Committee on Academic Standards. About This Opportunity Joining our Nursing team, the Advanced Practice Program Director will be responsible for the following: Works collaboratively with colleagues across campus, as well as the leaders in health care agencies to assure optimal operation of the graduate programs. Enhances student learning outcomes for the Advanced Practice programs using the National Task Force Standards and other regulatory agencies. Compiles Advanced Practice program outcome data for graduates including certification pass rates and job placement data. Provides leadership to faculty in developing, implementing and evaluating Advanced Practice program curricula that are responsive to trends in nursing education and health care. Collaborates with relevant departments and agencies within and outside Daemen University in developing and implementing the Advanced Practice programs. Assists the Department Chair in the completion of reports and surveys required by accrediting and regulatory agencies as well as professional nursing organizations. Provides academic advisement and counseling to Advanced Practice students. Arranges clinical placements for the Advanced Practice programs. Develops, edits and assures consistency between and among all Advanced Practice program written and electronic documents. Lead new Advanced Practice program development. Attends professional organization conferences/workshops to maintain currency of Advanced Practice program curricula. Recruit, orient, support and evaluate adjunct faculty. Covering Summer 2024 and traditional academic year of 9/1/2024-8/31/2025 Required Qualifications Certification as an advance practice nurse (e.g. FNP, AGPCNP, A-GACNP, GNP) is required. Preferred: A Doctoral degree, or enrolled in currently, (DNP, DNS, PhD, EdD) in nursing or a related discipline or enrollment in such program Experience with program development, student advisement and recruitment, distance learning and online teaching methodologies, teaching and advising graduate students and in thesis/project supervision preferred.
