Position Information Class Code: L111C Grade: GS12 FLSA Status: EXEMPT Salary Range: $69,776.00 - $101,175.00 Summary The ADVA Nursing Home Assistant Administrator is responsible for assisting in the direction of the overall operation of a State Veterans Home. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Functions Assists in planning, implementing, directing, and monitoring programs and services provided for nursing home residents by developing internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations. Assists in the direction of activities of a large staff through lower-level supervisors, including reviewing performance evaluations, evaluating the performance of immediate subordinates, and reviewing and determining a variety of actions, policies, and procedures recommended by subordinates. Assists in developing and submitting the nursing home's biennial budget requests, monitors expenditures, and makes budgetary adjustments as deemed necessary. Assists in the investigation and resolution of complaints regarding staff, residents, and programs. Assists in the development and revision of disciplinary rules and standard operating procedures for the facility. Assists in the monitoring of fiscal programs and maintains control over patient accounts, reimbursements, accounting, and disbursements. Assists in the review and approval of purchase requisitions submitted by staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Dimensions May be required to work rotating shifts or hours other than normal working hours or be on-call. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing nursing home operations. Knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational management. Knowledge of budgetary practices and procedures. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and rules pertaining to nursing home operations. Ability to plan work unit objectives and operational activities and to assign and direct the work of subordinate supervisors. Ability to analyze and evaluate programs and facilities for effectiveness and compliance. Ability to prepare and present oral and written information and reports. Ability to monitor fiscal programs and various financial accounts. Minimum Qualifications The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in health care administration, public administration, or a related field; plus four years of experience in the administration of a nursing home, hospital, or other health care institution, including two years in a supervisory capacity. Must be licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in Arkansas by the Office of Long-Term Care in accordance with ACA 20-10-402.
