Job Summary

The Part Time Adolescent Coach has an important job - not only are they responsible for the students' educational prowess, they also play a vital role in the physical well-being of students. Coaches should be well rounded in classroom management and Victory program procedures. In addition to helping students develop academically, they are also responsible for helping the student to develop socially, emotionally, and athletically. Coaches need to be patient and authoritative, empathetic, and regimented. The best Coaches are natural managers who lead by example. They are physically fit, talented, and highly motivated - with a can-do disposition that prompts students to participate and perform above their own expectation levels.

Coaches will follow through all rotations (outdoor free play, indoor arts & crafts, outdoor organized sports, and indoor STEAM activities) with their assigned group of campers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Classroom management of groups of 15-20 VPK-8th Grade students, and teach students Sports and/or STEAM.
  • Follow lesson plans developed by Victory Administration.
  • Support the development of group and teamwork, leadership, anti-bullying, etc. to assist students in successful transition socially, emotionally, and academically.
  • Arrive on time every day that you are scheduled, prepare for activity and for kids' arrival.
  • Document hours on your cell phone via Victory Administration's Quickbooks time app.
Qualifications
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
  • Able to explain complex procedures in simple terms.
  • Ability to follow a lesson plan
  • Well-versed in academic & athletic programming procedures.
  • Prepared to enthusiastically coach a wide range of Sports & STEAM activities.
  • Education oriented, with a strong sense of fair play and inclination against favoritism.
  • Able to teach and coach diverse students with varied academic & athletic interests and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Attendance and Punctuality

Attendance is an essential job function. This position requires applicant to arrive on time for scheduled shift which means set up and ready for kids' arrival. This position requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends, if necessary, when required.

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to lift moderately heavy objects up to 25lbs. and perform duties requiring extensive maneuverability and normal strength.

Must also be prepared to run, jump and participate in physical activity.

Equipment

Duties will require the regular use of mobile devices, computers and other electronics. Must have access to transportation. Must be able to pass a background check.

Compensation
  • $12-13 per hour (entry-level)
  • With experience, pay is based on experience
