Location: Batavia, NY Category: Adjunct Posted On: Thu Apr 4 2024 Job Description: Genesee Community College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach the following course for the Fall 2024 semester. HUS 124 - Gerontology: This course examines contemporary issues impacting older adults such as special needs, changing roles experienced with aging, community resources, legislation and programs designed to meet these multifaceted needs. This position will be required to provide Asynchronous Instruction - (Online coursework with no scheduled class times). The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching and learning, adaptability, a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace technology. This person will strive to create and maintain personal connections with students and the college community. They must be an approachable, enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic who contributes to Genesee's supportive community, dedicated to effective innovative strategies for student success. Must demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as the ability to establish and maintain a positive learning environment. Incumbent must be mindful of and develop solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically. Job Requirements: Master's Degree in the subject area is required (i.e. Human Services, Human Service Administration, Social Work, etc.) 18 Graduate credits in the discipline required Successful teaching experience in a community college is preferred.
