Activities Therapist

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations - Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York - plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations. Summary: Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Job Responsibilities: Assess the functional and therapeutic needs of the patient Properly document of activity assessments Conduct group and individual therapies in accordance with patient diagnosis and needs Conduct therapies in accordance with patient diagnosis and needs Complete progress notes and assessments according to program procedures Report patient response to interventions at physician led team meetings Contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans for each patient, auditing treatment plans for thoroughness Plan and implement the unit's activity therapy program Job Requirements: Graduate from either a Masters of Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, or other human service master's degree program with an accompanying license for art, recreation or activity therapy Three (3) or more years of previous experience in a behavioral health setting Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology Knowledge of physical and occupational therapy machine operation Location: Sharon-Sharon Hospital 50 Hospital Hill Road Work Type: Part-Time Standard Hours: 32.00 Work Schedule: Day 8 Work Shift: 8am - 4:30pm Salary Range: $22.250- $41.32/ Hour.
