As the Automatic Screw Machine Setup/Operator you would be responsible for setting up and operating one or more Acme Screw machines.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and Job Routings to determine part specifications and order requirements.
  • Use gages and other measuring instruments to make sure parts conform to specifications.
  • Install collets, pushers, gears, cams, tool holders and any other tooling required to machine part per print specifications.
  • Set all tooling as required.
  • Verify conformance of first piece production, making sure all dimensions are in conformance with print specifications using proper measuring instruments.
  • Tear down set-ups after job is complete.
  • Sharpen/replace old tooling if required.
  • Inspect parts to make sure they fit print requirements.
  • Clean machine and work area daily
    Keep area orderly
    Floor around machine must be kept free of oil.
  • Instruct/help co-workers.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
    Report any unsafe condition/action to a supervisor.
  • Learn and practice preventative maintenance on machinery and tooling to protect from damage and loss
    Report any condition requiring repair to the department supervisor.
Pay and Shift info
  • Starting pay is $20-$26/hr based on experience.
  • 1 st shift 6:00am 4:30pm, Monday-Thursday.
  • Availability to work OT on Friday when needed.
  • Temp to Hire opportunity with the company.

Skills/Qualifications
  • 3 years previous experience in setting up and operating Acme Gridley Screw Machines.
  • Must have a working knowledge of tooling and attachments; Dovetail forms, floating shave, knee tools, knurling, tapping, thread rolling, accelerated reaming, and recess and pick off attachments.
  • Must be able to set up to completion from print and layout, including; cams, gears, attachments, and tooling to finished part.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs independently and stand for up to 10-hour shift.
  • Able to read blueprints and use inspection tools
    Must be able to do basic math.
  • Will be subject to a pre-employment screening.
