Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Type: Direct Hire-Permanent

Location: Granite City, IL

Schedule: Monday-Friday; Flexible start and end time(s)

Compensation: $55,000 to $65,000 annual

Job Description:

• Schedule and prepare checks, resolve discrepancies in purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and payments, ensuring credit for outstanding memos.
• Review all invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and approval before processing payments.
• Prioritize invoices based on cash discount potential and payment terms.
• Process check requests and promptly respond to vendor inquiries.
• Assist in month-end closing procedures.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Collaborate on additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of accounts payable experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software; experience with Vista by Viewpoint is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interpret information effectively.
• Attention to detail with the capacity to make informed decisions promptly.
• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
• Team player with a positive attitude, taking ownership of tasks and actively seeking process improvements.
