We are a non-profit in Annapolis, MD focused on Education and HUD housing. We are seeking an Accounts Payable specialist around $60-70K annual compensation, and the ability to be in office on a hybrid schedule.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for:
1. Handling all aspects of Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.
2. Managing Purchase Order systems, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with financial policies and procedures.
3. Processing payments via multiple methods including ACH and Wire Transfers, ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors and suppliers.
4. Conducting regular audits to verify the accuracy of financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
5. Collaborating with other departments to resolve any financial discrepancies and ensure financial operations are running smoothly.
6. Assisting with month-end close procedures and preparing reports for management.
7. Maintaining strict confidentiality of financial information, following all regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate for the Consulting Accounts Payable Specialist position will possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably within the finance industry.
2. Proven experience with Purchase Orders, Payment Processing, ACH, and Wire Transfers.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
4. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and discrepancies in financial data.
5. Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
