The Accounting Supervisor will oversee our accounting department's daily operations. You will work closely with a team of accountants to manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and tax audits. Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and forecasts and has a keen eye for identifying discrepancies and inefficiencies in business processes.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Participate in regular tax audits and payroll
• Prepare budgeting reports and forecast revenues
• Manage month-end and year-end closing
• Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department
• Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
• Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
• Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with the company's targets
• Ensure compliance with the law
• Manage and mentor junior members of the accounting team

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor or similar role in the Finance industry with a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software - Sage 50 knowledge is a must
• Experience with construction accounting is a strong advantage
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• Excellent mathematical skills
• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
• Proven expertise in creating detailed reports and forecasts, managing cash flow, and conducting budgeting and forecasting
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
