Accounting Specialist - 30 hours, Casual workplace

- The Accounting Specialist will provide crucial support to the accounting department by managing a variety of accounting and administrative duties.

Overview of the Accounting Specialist role:
- Process weekly and monthly contract billings, progress billings based on a schedule of values, T&E billings, and unit based contract billings
- Compile required backup documentation for billings
- Basic understanding of construction contracts
- Basic understanding of lien releases
- Posting to the cash flow
- Billing reconciliations
- Complete monthly, quarterly, annual state sales tax returns
- Maintaining electronic billing filing system
- Follow up on payment status for assigned jobs/customers
- Monitor job status, ensuring all billings are prepared and submitted to the customer timely

- Strong analytical and accounting skills
- Ability to audit records for accuracy with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sharp attention to detail
- Self-motived, proactive and capable of prioritizing workload
- Skilled at handling multiple tasks and demonstrating adaptability
- Ability to interact and communicate professionally with various departments and customers with a sense of competency and helpfulness
