Job DetailsAccounting Specialist position - Contract to Hire position
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable, code vouchers/invoices, and make payments through EFT and wires
- Prepare invoices for billing, including totaling numbers, adding dates, and verifying financial data
- Handle general ledger and journal entry activity
- Verify and enter transactions into accounts payable module
- Answer vendor and project manager questions regarding accounts payable/invoices
- Prepare invoices for accounts receivable
- Share responsibility for payroll duties using payroll service
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years direct accounting experience that includes at least 2 years of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Banks reconciliation experience
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (ability to articulate discrepancies & solutions)
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint or another Gov Con industry software preferred
