We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for handling our company's financial operations to ensure our business runs smoothly. You will be working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices, and ensure legal compliance. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures, coupled with excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee the processing and organizing of all accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and adherence to established policies and procedures.

2. Perform daily data entry of financial and accounting transactions.

3. Prepare and maintain all necessary internal and external financial reports.

4. Conduct regular bank reconciliations and manage ledgers.

5. Monitor and track work-in-progress (WIP) costs, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis.

6. Utilize Excel and other financial software to process, store, and log financial information.

7. Collaborate with the accounting team to perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial audits and reviews.

8. Identify and address discrepancies in financial entries, reports, and statements.

9. Prepare and deliver presentations on financial reports to management, stakeholders, and other team members.

10. Stay updated on industry trends and current best practices in accounting.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2. 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.

3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

4. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry numeric, bank reconciliation, WIP, and Excel.

5. Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel.

7. Exceptional ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

8. Proficiency in using financial software and databases.

9. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
