As an Accounting/Office Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring divisional accounting follows the policies and procedures established by corporate HQ. An ideal candidate will be interested in a long-term affiliation and the ability to work at a steady pace in familiar surroundings to produce high-quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and procedures.


Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:

  • Application of divisional cash receipts daily
  • Follow up on past due customer invoices ensuring that divisional ineligible accounts receivable are kept to a minimum at all times
  • Establishing new customer accounts ensuring that all required credit and sales tax documentation is collected and processed per the SFP credit policy
  • Maintenance of divisional customer records including billing and shipping addresses, phone and fax records, and proper remit to information
  • Manage credit holds

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:


  • Prepare all divisional accounts payable invoices recording vouchers and appropriate general ledger coding on a timely basis and in the proper accounting period
  • Reconcile vendor invoices against purchase orders and receive records before processing payment following up on all discrepancies in accounts payable reconciliation with appropriate SFP or supplier contacts
  • Process supplier invoices to maximize offered supplier discounts
  • Address all inquiries from supplier accounts receivable departments
  • Record any checks written from the divisional local checking account within two days of disbursement

General Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring divisional accounting follows the policies and procedures established by corporate accounting
  • Review and reconcile entries and balances in general ledger accounts maintained at the divisional level
  • Work with corporate accounting as necessary to reconcile any general ledger account variances
  • Maintain and reconcile divisional customer rebates and receive allocation accrual records and account balances
  • Manage supplier marketing reimbursements including invoicing suppliers and/or issuing credits to customers.
  • Follow up on all outstanding balances with suppliers related to marketing support.

General Office Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with HQ as it relates to accounting, monthly and yearly closings
  • Assist with general office duties as required

Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within a distribution, manufacturing, or service-based delivery/shipping industry.
  • Able to learn and use distribution software such as Agility
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar discipline is preferred.
  • Possess initiative, quick and accurate decision-making ability, and strive for professionalism in their actions.
