Position


The Accounting Manager is the business partner of the Director of Operations and the local management team. The responsibilities include oversight of all accounting functions as well as management of the accounting department.



  • Maintain general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP.

  • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.

  • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.

  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

  • Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year.

  • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.

  • Presents recommendations to leadership on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.

  • Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.


Qualifications



  • A minimum of 3 years experience as Accounting Manager

  • Proven leadership skills including staff management

  • Experience should include; general ledger, GAAP, budget preparation, financial forecasts, financial reporting, tax planning, audits, etc.

  • Minimum Bachelor's in accounting or related field plus CPA designation preferred

  • Must have effective communication skills including presentations at the executive level

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software as well as Microsoft Office Suite
