The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting department, including legal billing, month-end close, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will be a Senior Accountant through Accounting Manager level with law firm experience. CPA is a huge plus, but no required.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including legal billing, month-end close, bank reconcications, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
2. Develop and implement best practices for financial management and reporting to improve efficiency and profitability.
3. Prepare and present financial reports and budget forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
4. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
5. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
6. Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations and processes.
7. Monitor and manage the firm's financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
8. Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, fostering an environment that encourages professional growth and high performance.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA certification is a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial accounting role, preferably within a law firm.
3. Proficiency in legal billing, month-end close, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
4. Strong understanding of management accounting and budgeting.
5. Experience with WIP billing is highly desirable.
6. Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
