Accounting Manager - On-Site - Jessup, MD (FLEX WORK HOURS.)

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant to take the next step in their career. You will not be directly managing anyone, but will own the monthly-close process and well as working very closely with the CFO (who is a great mentor.)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare necessary account reconciliations and supporting schedules, analyze all relevant general ledger information, and collaborate with the Controller to prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements promptly.
  • Record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic budgets for various departments and operating units as required.
  • Work closely with the Controller to ensure all management reporting needs are met.
  • Follow established accounting processes and safeguard the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Evaluate and recommend inventory and other controls to reduce costs or increase profitability.
  • Effectively communicate with warehouse, operations, office, and sales personnel to streamline processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operating efficiencies based on data analysis.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate seasonal and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance prefferred
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or financial management roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Full-cycle accounting, financial statement, accrual experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
