Job Details

Our highly reputable law firm is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that plays a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including managing IOLTA operations, to help our firm maintain its financial integrity and transparency. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the firm's IOLTA operations, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records and reports, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Perform monthly financial analysis to identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Coordinate with the firm's external auditors to ensure proper auditing processes.
  • Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and implement effective accounting procedures and policies to enhance the firm's financial operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve financial reporting and solve potential issues.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of the audit process.
  • Provide support to the firm's attorneys and staff regarding financial matters.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting role, within a law firm or legal department.
  • Proficiency in IOLTA operations and understanding of legal and ethical standards.
  • Prior experience with legal billing and accounting software, i.e. Elite 3E
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
