We are currently seeking an Accounting Consultant to join our team supporting Department of Defense clients in Washington, D.C. area. What you'll do: The Accounting Consultant Support will support government clients in financial statement compilation, reporting, audit respons, and remediation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS). Responsibilities: Support government clients in financial statement compilation, reporting, audit respons, and remediation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS).
Provide support to clients' technical areas such as accounting procedures, financial reporting, Funds Balance with Treasury and compliance services Perform analysis of key business processes and internal controls to identify gaps and opportunities to improve operational efficiency Provide technical solutions to improve financial management activities Provide Manager's Internal Control Program (MICP) support Validate controls and review testing of internal controls related to OMB A-123 Develop, implement, and track corrective action plans in response to audit findings
Attend meetings and provide client support onsite/in person when required Qualifications: Active CPA, CGFM, CDFM, or CISA certification
Understanding of Defense Financial Management, accounting and budget preferable
Experience with Department of Defense Audit Readiness and/or Audit Sustainment activities
Experience with leading complex tasks involving building briefs, tracking budgets and schedules, and working across functional communities
Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Active DOD SECRET security clearance
Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited in the United States
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required by MBC and/or clients What MBC offers: Competitive salaries
