Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary: The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and providing support to the finance team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Transactions:

    • Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately and timely.
    • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
    • Ensure proper coding and classification of expenses and revenues.
  2. General Ledger and Journals:

    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
    • Prepare and post journal entries as needed.
  3. Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Generate financial reports for management review.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
    • Provide support in financial forecasting and modeling.
  5. Bank Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
    • Monitor cash flow and report on liquidity positions.
  6. Tax Compliance:

    • Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., sales tax, income tax) accurately and on time.
    • Stay updated on tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  7. Audit Support:

    • Assist with internal and external audits.
    • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
  8. Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and performance indicators.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  9. Process Improvement:

    • Identify areas for process improvement in accounting procedures.
    • Implement controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  10. Compliance and Regulations:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is preferred.
  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
