We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving organization and play a critical role in our financial operations. The selected candidate will be directly involved in various accounting tasks, including municipal accounting, grant management, accounts payable and receivable, collections, state and local taxes, fund accounting, government accounting, financial forecasting, auditing, and budget analysis.

Responsibilities:

As an Accountant, you will be expected to:

1. Handle all aspects of municipal accounting, including preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
2. Manage grant accounting, ensuring compliance with grantor guidelines and requirements.
3. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
4. Handle collections, working closely with customers to facilitate payment and resolve any issues.
5. Manage state and local tax filings, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
6. Oversee fund accounting, ensuring all funds are accurately tracked and reported.
7. Handle government accounting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
8. Conduct financial forecasting, providing accurate and timely information to support strategic decision-making.
9. Perform auditing tasks, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete.
10. Conduct budget analysis, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, specifically with municipal accounting, grant management, accounts payable and receivable, collections, state and local taxes, fund accounting, government accounting, financial forecasting, auditing, and budget analysis.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge to a variety of financial tasks.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data and make accurate forecasts.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate financial information to a variety of audiences.
6. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
8. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
