Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team on a temporary full-time contract basis with the potential for permanent full-time employment. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of QuickBooks and project-based accounting, with the ability to handle various financial tasks including budgeting, cash flow projections, financial statements, fixed assets, tax reporting, reconciliations, purchase order processing, payroll, and invoice processing. Additionally, familiarity with federal and state grant/contract compliance related to financial and procurement processes is highly desirable. This role will be based at our Kissimmee, Florida office, with occasional remote work opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of accounting according to generally accepted accounting principles, established procedures, and regulatory requirements utilizing QuickBooks, including but not limited to, project-based accounting, budgeting, cash flow projections, fixed assets, and financial statements while continuously ensuring accurate, complete, and timely data and reports.
Process purchase orders, journal entries, payroll, invoices (through both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions), and tax reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Performs a wide variety of account management tasks including but not limited to deposits, transfers, account management, and reconciliations.
Collaborate with vendors and team members to establish balanced budgets and efficiently process financial transactions.
Ensure compliance with federal and state grant/contract regulations regarding financial and procurement processes.
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations
Assists with the development and monitoring of agency and grant/contract budgets
Assists in review and management of various contracts for financial and procurement compliance
Set and adhere to deadlines for financial tasks and reporting.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
Ensures adequate internal controls are established, maintained, and communicated to all team members
Provides reports and data as requested by CEO
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks is essential.
Strong understanding of project-based accounting principles.
Proficiency in budgeting, cash flow projections, and financial statement preparation.
Experience with purchase order, payroll, and invoice processing both AP and AR.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with vendors and team members.
Demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with federal and state grant/contract compliance related to financial and procurement processes is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Work Environment:
The position is onsite at our Kissimmee, Florida location.
Some remote work may be permitted but is not guaranteed and subject to CEO approval after 90 days.
The role is initially offered as a temporary full-time contract position with the potential for permanent full-time employment.
