SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant's primary responsibility is to lead the accounting close and support accounting processes, ensuring that transactions are appropriately approved and recorded accurately in the general ledger and other financial analysis. The Senior Accountant works under the supervision of the Accounting Director and will lead and guide other members of the Finance team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the monthly financial close process
Reconcile general ledger accounts, understanding discrepancies and resolving timely
Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
Produce flux and other ad hoc analysis
Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to or develop processes
Oversees expense reporting and credit card process
Ensures compliance with state and local taxes
Delegate financial responsibilities to the accounting team
Document policy and procedures and lead organization to compliance
Liaises with auditors and produces audit schedules as requested
Works to improve financial process by implementing procedures and technology
Support audit and SOX compliance as requested
Protect the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality
Become a trusted advisor to your business partners

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

5+ Years' experience in a Senior Accountant or related position
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
Highly detail-oriented
Versatile team player with proven ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced environment

Desired

CPA/MBA
Big 4 / Public Company experience in hardware or manufacturing industry
government contracting experience
Financial reporting experience
