Accountant

A non-profit organization is seeking an Accountant to support the finance team through a variety of accounting functions. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly billing statements and aged receivable report, monitor and verify accuracy of customer accounts, identify delinquent balances, and work with management for collection
Review and track financial aid for compliance with company policies, participate in month-end and annual accounting closing process, and the transition to a new accounting software
Track project costs and related reports for analysis, assist in the budgeting process at year-end, and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
Handle out-going mail, track postage and office equipment
Provide other duties as needed

Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Must have an Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent field
Must have 1 to 2 years Accounting experience with a working knowledge of GAAP
Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, have accurate data entry skills, and the ability to adapt to various software packages
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
Must have good problem-solving and time management skills
Must have the ability to pay a high attention to detail
