Overview of the Accountant role:
- Record cash payments daily and track in spreadsheet
- Review and confirm balance, freight, and sales tax on invoices; post Accounts Payable batches to general ledger
- Review final checks weekly for AP/AR
- Prepare journal entries for cash transactions
- Monthly closings - prepare sales tax returns for two regions; prepare balance sheet reconciliations for all US locations; communicate with plant managers regarding expenses
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for international locations quarterly
Preferred Qualifications for the Accountant Role:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Comfortable working in a major ERP
- Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role
