Job Description The Student Academic Success Coach coordinates, supports and implements the district's academic and behavior initiatives and in conjunction with the administrator, teachers, and support staff, will provide support services in areas such as: academics, goal setting and monitoring. Qualifications Must be a high school graduate and have 30 college credits. Preferred experience: A minimum of two years' experience in an educational agency or youth community program working with teens. Skills/Other: Must hold a Michigan's driver's license. Exhibit an interest and enthusiasm for working with teens and administration staff and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position and the ability to travel to and from the intermediate school district. Ability to work a flexible workday, work week, work year. Always represent the district in a professional manner. WOrks successfully as a member of the team. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative guidelines. Effective presentation skills. Experience using database software. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and /or the needs of the district. Compensation: $38,500 plus benefits. Job responsibiities include, but are not limited to, the following: Facilitates one on one and small group sessions around academics. ?Assists the Engagement Coach in collaborating tight the PBIS team, behavior specialist and social worker to address alternative educational opportunities for students within the school's MTSS plan. Assists in building and maintaining a collaborative network consisting of school-based service support staff such as, school behavior specialist, teachers, attendance liaison, etc. Assists Engagement Coach by providing a supportive and positive climate that encourages student responsibility. Monitors students academic, attendance and behavior progress. Establishes a rapport of respect with students, families, and staff to ensure success. Maintains positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationship with administration, instructional staff, students and parents. Recommends to the director the supplies and equipment needed to support behavior and non-attendance prevention efforts and assists with ordering and following established procedures.
