Salary: 60,000 - 65,000

Job Summary:
As an Academic Specialist at Fullmind, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of instruction for Fullmind's virtual educators. Your primary focus will be on empowering educators to excel in the virtual classroom by providing tailored support, designing engaging training materials, and offering feedback on virtual instructional programs. By leveraging your expertise in pedagogy and educational best practices, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning outcomes in remote settings.

The Academic Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Academics.

Responsibilities
  • Virtual Educator Support: Collaborate closely with educators to identify opportunities for enhancing virtual instructional practices. Use research-based pedagogy best practice (virtual, and in general) to support a pool of educators to increase instructional quality to drive student outcomes.
  • Feedback and Evaluation: Conduct regular evaluations of virtual instructional programs and interventions to assess their effectiveness. Provide constructive feedback to educators and program coordinators based on data analysis, observation of virtual instruction sessions, and alignment with learning standards.
  • Resource Development: Develop comprehensive one-pagers, guides, and toolkits to support educators in implementing best practices for virtual instruction.
  • Communication: Communicate key updates with a pool of educators, and provide training as needed. Gather and communicate essential information from districts, and support educators in meeting requests for unique instructional programs.
  • Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to teachers, supporting them in their role as virtual educators.
  • Strong Belief in Students: Maintain a steadfast belief in the inherent potential of all students to achieve academic success, fostering a culture of high expectations and empowerment among educators and learners alike.
  • Passion for Virtual Education: Foster a deep passion for virtual education, underpinned by a firm belief in its potential to effectively support the diverse needs of all students.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving skills.

Requirements
  • Experience: At least 5 years of classroom experience as a certified educator with some virtual teaching experience (online instruction during covid is sufficient)
  • Mentorship: Experience with teacher professional development/mentorship (Grade Level Chair, Mentor Teacher, Teacher Coach, etc)
  • Students with Disabilities: A bachelors degree, masters degree, or certification relating to Students with Disabilities required.
