Our client is a dynamic industry leader in construction materials and is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their team as an Accounts Receivable Manager. As an integral part of their finance department, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the sales mix and minimizing bad debt losses through effective credit management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the credit and accounts receivable department, collaborating closely with the CFO, Corporate and Financial Controllers, internal sales professionals, and external stakeholders.

  • Policy Enhancement: Evaluate and recommend improvements to credit policy, demonstrating a proactive approach to risk management.

  • Credit Operations Coordination: Lead credit meetings, coordinate lien filings and bond claims, act as the point of contact for bankruptcy cases, and review joint check agreements and lien waivers.

  • Training and Development: Oversee ongoing training initiatives for the credit team, ensuring staff members are well-equipped with the latest industry knowledge.

  • Systems Management: Act as the Credit & Collections Systems Super User, ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and maintaining accurate SOPs for the credit and collections department.

  • Financial Analysis: Utilize strong analytical skills to conduct high-level analyses, complete financial reports, and contribute to informed business decision-making.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Collaborate with the sales department to streamline billing processes, enforce the company's credit policy, and maintain positive relations with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Billing Accuracy: Take accountability for accurate and timely billing, handling railcar billing, and collaborating with the Contracting Division for month-end accuracy.

  • Delinquency Management: Maintain a low percentage of delinquent accounts, conduct credit investigations, and recommend credit limits based on corporate guidelines.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound decision-making skills in a dynamic office setting.
  • Willingness to travel for customer interactions and payments.
Education and Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field OR 4+ years of industry-relevant credit experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites.
  • Considerable experience with customer negotiations.
  • Experience leading a team of AR professionals.
