Nesco Resource, 10 plus time winner of the Best in Staffing Award, is looking for a Production Supervisor with Shrink Sleeve experience for a 2nd shift (2:45PM-11PM) opportunity for a reputable West side manufacturer. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a team of 5-9 people, be a problem solver, and have mechanical ability to set up machinery. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Production Supervisor

Job Description
Supervise assigned production materials, equipment and personnel to maximize production of quality products on time and in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Essential Functions

  • Train equipment operators and carton packers/box handlers in the specifics of their job functions.
  • Insure timely and efficient equipment set-ups, changeovers and start-ups to minimize production delays. Accurately and promptly report daily production, including labor and materials used.
  • Routinely monitor production effectiveness for quality and quantity and take aggressive actions to minimize downtime and excessive spoilage.
  • Work with other departments to help solve problems and promote cooperation in support of objectives.
  • Promote facility, equipment and employee safety including reporting problems, conditions and hazards that cannot be immediately corrected.
  • Evaluate employee effectiveness and determine individual needs for improvement; issue disciplinary action as appropriate, recommend merit increases, recommend hiring and discharging actions to the production manager.
  • Enforce company policies.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks as necessary to support production objectives in the absence of personnel normally assigned to accomplish those tasks.
  • Perform special projects as requested.
  • Assist in the development of new products, tooling, processes, materials.
  • Assist in developing, refining, and writing of procedures, forms and work instructions.
  • Post all machine schedules.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer literate.
  • Four years industrial experience.
  • Communication, math and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have normal color vision.
  • Read 5 or 6 point font
