2ND SHIFT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR NEEDED - CHELSEA, MICHIGAN
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Chelsea, Michigan area needs a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor. 2nd Shift Working Hours are 2 P.M. to 10 P.M. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading, developing, coaching and motivating high performance work teams within the assigned manufacturing operation. Focusing on safety, quality, delivery and productivity the Production Supervisor will ensure achievement of daily production goals, identifying work stoppages or roadblocks and implementing corrective actions. This candidate will work closely with multiple functional areas to optimize material flows, equipment uptime, and staffing within the area to meet or exceed daily business objectives.
1. Experience in assembly production, as well as overseeing and coordinating multiple departments on the off shifts (i.e. Quality, Materials, Maintenance).
2. Responsible for all processes, equipment, team members, safety, and housekeeping of assigned area.
2. Assigns job duties to production team members.
3. Communicate critical process areas with team.
4. Ensure team members are properly trained on their job, standardized work instructions, control plans, and the importance of monitoring for quality.
5. Properly isolate rejected material.
6. Conduct area communication meetings with team members, participate in meetings with other department leads, and management team.
7. Coordinate maintenance requirements with maintenance department. Ensure suspect equipment problems are reported in a timely manner.
8. Assist with corrective action activities which apply to production operations.
9. Prepare reports recording daily production and scrap.
10. Ensure reliability of labor and personnel information by recording accurate information into required systems and on required documents.
11. Communicate customer concerns, process changes, quality concerns, and safety concerns to production team members.
12. Monitor setup, changeover, downtime, and cleanup accounts.
13. Suggest changes to increase efficiency and utilization.
14. Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility.
15. Ensure safety of team members through adequate training and enforcement of regulations and standards.
16. Report any unsafe conditions to Operations Manager and EH&S Representative.
17. Recommend and assist with developing and implementing training programs.
18. Communicate performance expectations, and perform performance evaluations.
19. Assist with Layered Process Audits, as well as internal and external certification audits (IATF, TS, and ISO).
20. Able to troubleshoot and make root cause issue determinations, and implement long term solutions. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION: 1. High School Diploma required, College degree preferred.
2. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in manufacturing production supervision preferably for an OEM supplier.
3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in metal stamping and/or robotic weld assembly.
4. Minimum of 4 yrs of demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, and coaching hourly work teams with the ability to bring some level of maturity and stability to the shift. TO APPLY:
